
Postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Riadh Ksantini, was recently awarded a fellowship for postdoctoral research from the granting agengy “Fonds de quebecois rechere sur la nature et les technologies” from April 2008 through March 2010. The basis of the award is based on competitions held to determine the highest level of achievement among graduating PhD students. Dr. Ksantini was ranked 3rd among 165 PhD students by the committee of Information Technology & Communications. The “Fonds Nature et Technologies” promotes and develops research, disseminates the knowledge stemming from research, and fosters research training primarily in the field of natural sciences and engineering.
Dr. Ksantini recently came onboard with the University of Windsor’s School of Computer Science as a postdoctoral research associate with Dr. Boufama in 2007. He is currently working on Image Segmentation. His research interests also lie in image processing, computer vision, numerical media, machine learning, pattern recognition, data mining and applied mathematics.
Dr. Ksantini is married and has a young son. He spends his spare time with his family and has begun playing soccer on a daily basis.
